Delta continues to enhance product energy efficiency and to develop integrated green energy/energy-saving products and solutions that help clients conserve more energy and achieve higher cost-effective performance.

Energy Efficiency of Products

High-efficiency products saved clients 3.2 billion kWh of electricity

From 2010 to 2019, Delta's high-efficiency products, such as power supplies, DC fans, uninterruptible power systems, electronic ballasts, frequency converters, and solar inverters, shipped from mainland China, Taiwan, and Thailand helped clients save an estimated 31.4 billion kWh of electricity, which was equivalent to reducing emissions by around 16.74 million metric tons of CO2e.

In addition, Delta pioneered the introduction of product power saving calculations into third-party certification in 2015. In 2019, an ISAE 3000 assurance engagement was conducted on 11 energy-saving Delta products that had helped clients save 3.2 billion kWh of electricity--the equivalent of reducing emissions by 1.69 million metric tons of CO2e. Please refer to Section 4 of Chapter 7 of the 2019 CSR Report for product power saving calculations.

In 2019, the energy savings of 11 types of products have been assured by ISAE 3000

  • Product Life-Cycle Assessment

Product energy efficiency is approved by ISAE 3000

Through product technology innovation, Delta promises to continuously improve product energy efficiency, actively develop renewable energy solutions, and introduce green designs at all stages of the product life cycle. This will reduce Delta's environmental impact and achieve responsible product manufacturing and consumption.

    Life-Cycle Assessment

Product Life-cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method of systematically analyzing the various product life-cycle stages that may have an environmental impact, such as raw material acquisition, manufacturing and assembly, sales and transportation, use, and final disposal. To reduce the impact of its products on the environment, Delta has implemented a full-scale LCA and a screening LCA for products in accordance with the international ISO 14040/44 standard, while introducing green design at each stage.

    Strategies

    • All products comply with international safety standards or international environmental regulations (e.g., EU directives including RoHS, WEEE, REACH, and China RoHS)
    • Assist clients with green marketing and ensuring product labeling complies with relevant environmental labeling regulations, such as the Green Mark, energy labels, US Energy Star, and 80 PLUS.
    • Improve product energy efficiency and continue ISAE 3000 assurance approval to provide clients with product energy saving solutions
