Since Delta established the first green building in the Tainan
Science Park in 2006, it has promised that all of its new
plants and offices in the future will implement the green
building concept. So far, Delta has built and made donations
of 27 green buildings and two green data centers around the
world.
Delta applies its products and energy-saving solutions to
green buildings and has successively obtained certificates,
including LEED from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC),
BREEAM from the Building Research Establishment (BRE), EEWH,
and the China Green Building Label. The annual electricity
consumption of the floor area (EUI, kWh/m2) set by local building standards is adopted as a comparison
benchmark. Delta has calculated the energy it has saved
through its 15 green office buildings and the five academic
green buildings that it sponsored according to the ISAE3000
assurance process.
In 2019, Delta's global certified green office buildings saved
more than 19.73 million kWh of electricity and reduced carbon
dioxide by around 12,485.6 metric tons of CO2e. Delta evaluates the electricity-saving effect based on
power usage effectiveness (PUE) of its data centers' server
rooms every year. In 2019, Delta's data centers certified as
green buildings saved more than 257,766 kWh of electricity and
reduced carbon dioxide by 193.5 metric tons of CO2e.
